My co-workers are great to work with. We have fun. We work hard. We face challenges head on. We provide learning opportunities that support the practice of health care professionals, who in turn make our patients’ care better. In my role, I am constantly making new connections with various departments. The exposure to our dedicated workforce keeps my work dynamic, challenging and fun!

Many colleagues have supported me through the best and worst times of my life. Those relationships are invaluable. Every day, there is an opportunity to see life through a lens of love and laughter, and every kind word makes a difference.

I love coming to work. I enjoy the interactions with our patients and staff.

Helping patients/staff or relieving a concern makes my day. Protecting our patients’ information is my job, and I take that very seriously. I don’t want to leave any questions unanswered. I enjoy problem solving, investigating an issue or resolving a concern and bringing resolution to both patients and staff. If I can make at least one person happy a day, I feel I have done my job. I strive to remain positive, even in the most challenging circumstances.

Having a background in early childhood education, I wanted a job where I could continue to work with children. My experience teaching preschool helps me assess a child’s personality and structure the hearing test session to appear as fun and games. It makes patients and parents feel at ease and allows me to get the best results for the audiologists.

I enjoy collaborating with others to make something creative that will help people. And when you’re part of a team who cares and supports one another as we do, it generates a tremendous amount of creativity for our project work.

I love being a part of helping my team succeed. I know I’ve made a difference when my team can feel good about their effort and work. It’s a great feeling watching them take pride in their accomplishments.

I like to bring a positive attitude, be a team player, and help other departments out when needed. It starts with teamwork and taking care of each other, so that we can care for patients.

I choose to work at Dartmouth-Hitchcock because every day is full of opportunities to make someone’s day just a little bit better. Patients from all over New England come here with the hope of getting well and back to their daily life. The patient experience starts with scheduling an appointment with the clinical secretary, so this can really impact their impression of Dartmouth-Hitchcock long before they walk through our doors. I am proud to play my part in that.

I work on creating applications that help our patients and providers, in particular, enhancing the functionality of our patient portal: myD-H. Better applications for our providers help make their workload more efficient and allows them more time to devote to our patients.

I like helping co-workers solve problems, so being approachable when technical issues arise or when offering input and solutions whenever I can is an important part of my job.

I enjoy helping people and finding them answers. I feel that even if the answer isn’t always what people are hoping for, at least knowing gives them a direction and perhaps some peace of mind. Being able to give them that is what this work is all about.

I chose to come to Dartmouth-Hitchcock for a few reasons. I was really interested in the field of pharmacogenomics and in this area, jobs in that field are very hard to come by. I also grew up around here and Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s reputation of excellence has been well known for so long. I am excited and proud to be a part of that and the amazing work we do here.

All we have to do is listen.

Whenever I can take a patient’s mind off whatever is going on in their lives at that moment, it’s incredibly satisfying. I value the time I get to spend talking with them, and it’s an amazing feeling when you see a smile come across the face of someone telling you about someone or something important to them. People love to talk, and all we have to do is listen.

Another joy in my job is working with my staff. If a teammate is struggling, we are there for each other. I chose to work at Dartmouth-Hitchcock because of the people, and I like to think I have one of the best teams in the hospital.

In addition to medical care, patients need kindness -someone to help them through what they are dealing with. I have always been impressed with the patient-centered approach to care. I empathize with each patient that I help. Everyone has something going on in his/her life that affects their interactions, and I do my best to remember that. It’s important they feel cared for.

I make sure I stay smiling. There are good days and bad days, but we all have to work together to do our part. I help colleagues whenever and wherever I’m needed, because I never want to let anyone down. I put my all into each day and work as hard as I can.
